Two Former Eagle Pass ISD Teachers and 20 Other Defendants Sentenced to Federal Prison by U.S. District Court Judge Alia Moses during June 6-8, 2018

Two former Eagle Pass Independent School District teachers, Sucel Balboa, age 28, and Teresa Santa Lopez, age 49, of Eagle Pass, Texas together with 20 other criminal defendants from the Eagle Pass and Crystal City, Texas area were sentenced for drug trafficking and/or money laundering by United States District Court Judge Alia Moses for the Western District of Texas, Del Rio Division, in Del Rio, Texas during June 6 through 8, 2018.
Sucel Balboa, age 28, of Eagle Pass, Texas was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016, followed by three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Sucel Balboa pled guilty on May 25, 2017, to Conspiracy to Launder Monetary Documents.
Teresa Santa Lopez, age 49, of Eagle Pass, Texas was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016, followed by three years supervised release, and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Teresa Santa Lopez pled guilty on March 30, 2017, to Conspiracy to Launder Monetary Documents.
Pura Garza Esquivel, age 50, of Eagle Pass, Texas was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016, followed by five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $1,500 fine on Friday, June 8, 2018. Pure Garza Esquivel pled guilty on April 27, 2017, to Conspiracy to Launder Monetary Documents.
Maricela Alvarado Davalos, age 33, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 48 months in federal prison followed by one year of supervised release on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Maricela Alvarado Davalos pled guilty on August 10, 2017, to Unlawful Use of a Communications Facility.
Wilibaldo Mora, Jr., age 24, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 168 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016, followed by three years of supervised release on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Wilibaldo Mora, Jr. pled guilty on March 30, 2017, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Jacinto Davalos, age 42, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 235 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release, ordered to pay a $5,000 fine and a money judgment in the amount of $1.794 Million on Wednesday, June 6, 2017. Jacinto Davalos pled guilty on November 30, 2017, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance and Maintaining Drug Controlled Premises.
Arnoldo Almeida, age 58, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 188 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Arnoldo Almeida pled guilty on April 27, 2017, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Simon Contreras, age 60, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 168 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 18, 2016, followed by three years of supervised release on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Simon Contreras pled guilty on March 9, 2017, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Abelardo Rodriguez, Jr., age 25, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 71 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016, followed by three years of supervised release on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Abelardo Rodriguez, Jr. pled guilty on January 27, 2017, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Wilibaldo Mora, Sr., age 51, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 300 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016, followed by five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and a money judgment in the amount of $249,318.00 on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Wilibaldo Mora, Sr. pled guilty on November 30, 2016, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Angel Lee Ramirez, age 29, of Del Rio, Texas was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Angel Lee Ramirez pled guilty on March 30, 2017, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Bruce Lee Davalos, age 35, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2017, followed by five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 and a money judgment of $210,000.00 on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Gerardo Antonio Figueroa, age 51, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 135 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016 followed by three years supervised release, and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Gerardo Antonio Figueroa pled guilty on March 30, 2017, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Ramiro D. Ramirez, Jr., age 56, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 121 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016 on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Ramiro D. Ramirez, Jr. pled guilty on August 10, 2017, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Rogelio Davila, Jr., age 24, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 87 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016, followed by three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Jorge Armando Rivera, age 38, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 420 months in federal prison with credit for time served since Auggust 17, 2016, followed by five years of supervised release and ordered to pay a money judgment in the amount of $224,000.00 on Friday, June 8, 2018. David Davalos, Jr., age 27, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016, followed by one year of supervised release on Friday, June 8, 2018. Robert Telles, age 50, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 132 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016, followed by three years of supervised release on Friday, June 8, 2018. Robert Tellles pled guilty on March 30, 2017, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Ronald Davalos, age 47, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 105 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016,, followed by three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 on Friday, June 8, 2018. Ronald Davalos pled guilty on May 25, 2017, to Conspiracy to. Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Rogelio Davila, Sr., age 62, of Crystal City, Texas was sentenced to 108 months in federal prison with credit for time served since August 17, 2016, followed by three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 on Friday, June 8, 2018.
Three defendants are awaiting for their sentencing hearings in the near future, including Sonia Balboa, age 53, of Eagle Pass, Texas who pled guilty on May 25, 2017, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance; David Davalos, Sr., age 48, of Crystal City , Texas who pled guilty on March 30, 2017, to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance and Maintaining Drug involved Premises; and Joseph Garza, age unknown, of Crystal City, Texas who pled guilty to Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
One defendant remains a fugitive, Genaro Balboa-Falcon..
