Eagle Pass Eagles Derek Ibarra and Isaac Roque to Play in Texas Select All-Star Baseball Showcase

Eagle Pass High School Eagles Head Baseball Coach Reynol Mendoza announced that seniors Derek Ibarra and Isaac Roque have been selected to play in the 2018 Texas Select All-Star Baseball Showcase on June 16, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas before many college coaches and scouts.
Derek Ibarra was selected as a unanimous District 29-6A All-District First Team Member as an outfielder by the district head coaches. Ibarra is a solid defensive outfielder and has offensive firepower with a 2018 Batting Average of .328 in 58 At Bats, 19 Hits, 2 Doubles, 10 RBIs, and 10 Runs scored. He had an OBP of .375 and an OPS of .737.
Isaac Roque was selected as a District 29-6A All-District Second Team Member as a First Baseman/Utility Player by his district coaches. Roque is a dedicated defensive player and possesses offensive prowess with 19 Hits, 3 Doubles, 1 Home Run, and 11 Runs Scored during 2018. He enjoyed an OBP of .761.
Eagles Head Coach Reynol Mendoza stated that he is honored to have Derek Ibarra and Isaac Roque selected to the prestigious Texas Select All-Star Baseball Showcase. Mendoza added that Derek Ibarra was feared by opponents for both his defensive and offensive skills on the diamond with the Eagle Pass Eagles while Isaac Roque enjoyed an outstanding senior year earning the respect of opposing coaches as a First Baseman for the Eagles.
