Angelica Martinez, MSN, APRN, FNP-C Opens Family Nurse Practice
Driven by a genuine commitment to serving the health care needs of Maverick Countians and her fellow human beings, Eagle Passan Angelica Martinez, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, has opened a family nurse practice focusing on providing primary medical services to children aged two and beyond as well as both men and women adults at 1975 North Veterans Boulevard, Suite 6, in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Martinez is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing degree and an Advance Practice Registered Nurse. Family Nurse Practitioners are permitted to provide the delivery of comprehensive health care services to their patients. According to research studies, Family Nurse Practitioners deliver safe, economical, high quality health care to patients of all ages with acute and chronic illnesses.
Martinez plans to provide comprehensive primary health care services to children and adults at her new Family Nurse Practice, including physical exams, immunizations, minor injuries, colds and flu, diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure, upper respiratory infections, Pap smears, birth control and other primary medical care services.
“I like to welcome the citizens of Maverick County and surrounding communities to our Family Nurse Practice in Eagle Pass,” said Angelica Martinez, MSN, APRN, FNP-C. “We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. at our new offices located at 1975 North Veterans Boulevard, Suite 6, inside Dr. Carlos Hernandez’s Southwestern Women’s Medical Clinic,” added Martinez.
“There is a great demand and need for primary health care services for children and adults in both Eagle Pass and the surrounding communities of Carrizo Springs, Crystal City, La Pryor, Uvalde, Brackettville, Quemado, and El Indio,” said Martinez. “Our Family Health Practice seeks to provide and satisfy the primary health care needs of young and adult clients in the Winter Garden Area,” added Martinez. “We welcome new patients, whether children or adults. We accept children aged two or older and both men and women adult patients,” said Martinez.
Martinez nursing career includes working for FDMC as an ICU/ER Nurse and Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit Nurse Manager, Administrator and Director of Nurses for home health and hospice agency in our community. As well as running her own Hospice Care agency. After serving our community as a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse for 15 years, she decided to pursue a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner and opened her own practice
Martinez is a 1995 graduate of Eagle Pass High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Herzing University in 2015. After working at a local home care organization, Martinez decided to pursue her Master of Science in Nursing degree at Herzing University, which she successfully graduated from in 2017. She studied and passed her Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification in December 2017. She is also an Advance Practice Registered Nurse.
Martínez is the daughter of Jesus and Blanca Garza of Eagle Pass. She is married to Francisco Martinez, a physical therapist assistant at our local FDRMC outpatient therapy clinic, and they have four children, Victor, Erik, Rene, and Aileen Martinez.
