3.5 Magnitude Earthquake Reported in South Texas’ Eagle Ford Shale Region

The United States Geological Survey reported a 3.5 Magnitude Richter Scale Earthquake struck in Atascosa County, Texas, only 40 miles southeast of San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday, January 6, 2018. The earthquake struck near the City of Fashing within Atascosa County in South Texas, home of the Eagle Ford Shale Oil and Gas Drilling Region.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 3.5 Magnitude earthquake hit at approximately 9:37 A.M. Central Standard Time on January 6, 2018 in Atascosa County, Texas, with smaller slight tremors felt in southern San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.
There are not any reports of any damage or injuries as a result of the 3.5 Magnitude Texas Earthquake as of press time.
