Eagle Pass Detective Gabriel Perez, Sr. Retires from Eagle Pass Police Department after 26 Years

City of Eagle Pass, Texas Police Department Detective Gabriel Perez, Sr. was honored on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, by the Eagle Pass City Council during their regular meeting on his official retirement from the local police department after 26 years of service.
Detective Gabriel Perez, Sr. enjoyed a distinguished career as an Eagle Pass Police Department Officer during his 26 year career, including a multiple year assignment to the DEA Drug Task Force.
Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu presented Detective Perez with a plaque in appreciation of his loyal and dedicated 26 years of service to the citizens of Eagle Pass as well as a gift of an engraved barbecue cooking utensils set with case. Joining Mayor Cantu in congratulating Detective Perez were Mayor Pro-Tem Yolanda Ramon and City Councilmembers Gloria E. Hernandez and Luis E. Sifuentes as well as Eagle Pass Police Chief Alberto Guajarado and other officers.
Chief of Police Alberto Guajardo stated that Detective Perez will be greatly missed for his invaluable experience and dedication to protecting the residents of Eagle Pass. Chief Guajardo noted that the Eagle Pass Police Department had held a barbecue in honor of Detective Perez earlier and bestowed him with a gift.
Detective Perez thanked his wife, Guiche Becker-Perez, for her love and support of his law enforcement career during the past 26 years with the Eagle Pass Police Department, the City of Eagle Pass, Police Chief Alberto Guajardo, and his fellow colleagues in the Eagle Pass Police Department.
Detective Perez enjoys fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. Chief Guajardo stated that Detective Perez will now have more time to pursue his fishing and hunting interests.
