Second Annual Maverick County Hospital District’s Health and Wellness Expo to be Held November 1st

The Second Annual Maverick County Hospital District’s Health and Wellness Expo will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, from 2 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the City of Eagle Pass International Center for Trade, 3295 Bob Rogers Drive in Eagle Pass, Texas, featuring free health screenings, round table discussions on various topics, and over 50 exhibitors.
The MCHD Health and Wellness Expos is open to the public with free admission. All Maverick Countians and surrounding area residents are invited and encouraged to attend the Second Annual MCHD Health and Wellness Expo on November 1st, said Terri Contreras-Patlan, CEO of the MCHD.
Participants will receive health screenings for blood pressure, glucose level checks, physicals, HIV, and cancer genetic risk assessments. In addition, prizes and free haircuts will be awarded to attendees.
Round table discussions on how to sign up for health insurance, financial wellness, nutrition and physical activity recommendations for cancer prevention, and a car safety and distracted driver simulation course.
Over 50 exhibitors will provide key information regarding their services, including primary care, specialty care, dental care, hospital services, skilled nursing and rehabilitation, assisted living centers, home health, hospice care, medical supplies, social services, financial assistance, housing assistance, fitness and exercise services, nutritional service, spiritual services, and many other services.
The purpose of the MCHD Health and Wellness Expo is to educate and inform over 60,000 Maverick County residents about the health and wellness services available in the community as well as connect residents with the health and wellness providers on a one to one basis. This Health and Wellness Expo is a must attend event for all concerned Maverick Countians as admission is free. Attendees will learn and meet professionals who are available in the community to assist them with all of their health and wellness issues and needs.
In addition to the Maverick County Hospital District, the Second Annual MCHD Health and Wellness Expos is sponsored by the City of Eagle Pass and the HOPE-K Tri-National Health Council.
