City of Eagle Pass Finance Department Receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas Finance Department under the leadership of Business and Finance Director Jesus Rodriguez, Jr. received the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its outstanding government accounting and financial reporting during 2016-2017 Fiscal Year, announced Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu.

Mayor Cantu and City Councilmembers Yolanda Ramon (Mayor Pro-Tem) and Luis E. Sifuentes presented the coveted Certificate for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Eagle Pass Business and Finance Director Jesus Rodriguez, Jr. and City Finance Department Staff at a special City Council meeting held on Monday, October 2, 2017.

Mayor Cantu commended Rodriguez and the City Finance Department Personnel for their continued excellence in governmental accounting and financial reporting at the City of Eagle Pass.

Mayor Cantu noted that the City of Eagle Pass Finance Department has received this recognition of excellence in financial reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association, a national non-profit organization, for many consecutive years since the days of former City Finance Director Manuel “Manny” Contreras.
