Eagle Pass Babe Ruth Baseball 13 Under All-Stars Clinch Regional Championship to Earn Berth at World Series

Eagle Pass Babe Ruth Baseball 13 Under All-Stars Head Coaches Julian Elizondo and Matthew Elizondo announced that the Eagle Pass team clinched the 2017 Babe Ruth Baseball 13 Under Southwest Regional Championship held July 21-25, 2017, at Lincoln, Alabama while earning a berth in the 2017 Babe Ruth Baseball 13 Under World Series Championship to be held August 10-17th at Mountain Home, Arkansas.

The Eagle Pass Babe Ruth 13 Under All-Stars won their opening Regional game against Brewton, Arkansas on July 21st by the score of 5-3 behind clutch hitting, great pitching, and outstanding defense.

Advancing to the winners bracket, Eagle Pass defeated the Bryant, Arkansas All-Stars by a score of 7-2 on July 22nd behind great offensive hitting and awesome pitching, advancing into the Regional Championship bracket against Long Beach, Mississippi in a best of three series.

On Sunday, July 23rd, Eagle Pass continued to roll over the competition by crushing the Long Beach, Mississippi All-Stars by a score of 8-3 behind key hitting and outstanding defense, taking a 1-0 series lead and needing one victory to sweep the Regional Championship.

The Long Beach, Mississippi All-Stars regrouped and came out battling enroute to defeating Eagle Pass by a score of 4-1 on Monday, July 24th, tying the series 1-1 and forcing a winner take all Championship game.  Eagle Pass took its first tournament loss hard, but vowed to come back the next day and play better.

In the winner take all Regional Championship game on Tuesday, July 25th, the Eagle Pass All-Stars had their hands full as the Long Beach, Mississippi All-Stars came out strong, but Eagle Pass similarly came out hot with their batting and clutch defensive gems to hold off for the Championship victory 4-3 to punch their ticket to the prestigious 2017 Babe Ruth Baseball 13 Under World Series in Mountain Home, Arkansas during August 10-17, 2017.

The Eagle Pass Babe Ruth 13 Under All-Stars include Ramon K. Salinas, Izek Garza, Omar Salazar, Rolando Jimenez, Hector Gomez, Jarod Romero, Aaron Trevizo, Josue Jimenez, Juan J. Garza, Eddie Sepulveda, Head Coaches Julian Elizondo and Matthew Elizondo, and Assistant Coach Eddie Sepulveda.
