Eagle Pass Lady Eagles Softball face McAllen High Lady Bulldogs in Bi-District Championship

The Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles Softball Team finished in third place in District 29-6A with a 10-4 record and 16-9 overall in the 2017 season, qualifying for the Texas U.I.L. State 6A Softball Playoffs against the McAllen High School Lady Bulldogs for the Bi-District Championship on Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, 2017 in a best of three series in Laredo, Texas, announced Lady Eagles Head Coach Oscar Ruiz.
Head Coach Oscar Ruiz stated the Bi-District Championship series against McAllen High School will be played in Laredo, Texas next Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, at the Laredo United ISD Student Activity Complex. Game One is Friday, April 28th at 7 PM. Game Two is on Saturday, April 29th, at 4 PM, and, Game Three, if necessary, will be 30 minutes following Game Two.
The 2017 District 29-6A Softball Champion is San Antonio South San High School Lady Bobcats, the San Antonio Southwest High School Lady Dragons finished as Runner-Up Champions, Eagle Pass Lady Eagles finished in third place, and the Laredo United High School Lady Longhorns finished in fourth place. All four teams qualified for the playoffs.
The Lady Eagles will rely on the pitching tandem of Kaitlin Galvan and Leenette Krezdorn to muzzle the potent McAllen High Lady Bulldogs batters.
McAllen finished as District 30-6A Co-Champions and sport an overall season record of 20-6 and a 10-2 District record entering the Bi-District Playoffs.
Offensively, the Lady Eagles will count on standout shortstop Heather Ruiz to produce runs across home plate together with teammates Kayla Ochoa, Isabella Ruiz, Leslie Martinez, Lorelei Morales, Karina Ruiz, Elena De Alba, Leeann Dunn, Emily Snyder, Kaitlin Galvan, Leenette Krezdorn, Alexandra Martinez, and Romy Flores.
Assisting Head Coach Oscar Ruiz are Assistant Coaches Ricardo Ruiz, Larissa Venegas, Ernesto Reyes, and Julian Caballero.
