Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report
Friday, January 13, 2017, 2:25 AM: An Eagle Pass Police Officer witnessed a Grey Nissan Altima vehicle exit a convenience store and begin driving on El Indio Highway in a reckless manner. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle which was said to have accelerated and pass vehicles in a designated no passing zone. The officer continued to follow the Vehicle with active emergency lights and siren where the vehicle finally came to a complete stop in the middle of residential street. The driver who was identified as 24 year old Edgar Anthony Serrano was arrested for evading arrest, driving while intoxicated and driving while license invalid. Serrano was presented before a magistrate and formally charged and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $2500 bond.
Friday, January 13, 2017, 6:05 PM: Eagle Pass Police Officers responded to a convenience store within the 2100 block of El Indio Highway in reference to a report of a man with a gun. Investigating officers spoke with a male and female complainant who informed officers of a male subject in an older model red truck who brandished an unknown type of firearm towards them while stopped in traffic. The complainants informed the officers they fled the area and called for police assistance. A description of the vehicle and subject was obtained. This case is currently under investigation.
Saturday, January 14, 2017, 4:30 PM: An Eagle Pass Police Officer responded to the Walmart Store in reference to theft. The investigating was informed of an adult male which had been detained after exiting the store without making any attempt to pay for 26 items in a shopping cart with a combined value of $733.00. The adult male was identified as 25 year old Brandon Scott Taylor who upon further investigation was discovered to have 2 active warrants from the City of Eagle Pass Municipal Court totaling $607.10. Taylor was also found to be in possession of several pills of a controlled category. Taylor was arrested on the 2 warrants and later presented before a magistrate where he was formally charged with theft and possession of a controlled substance and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $2500 bond.
