Jessica Ortiz named City of Eagle Pass Health Inspector

The City of Eagle Pass, Texas Mayor Ramsey English Cantu announced that Jessica Ortiz has been named as the new City Health Inspector as part of the City Council’s earlier passage of the City Health Ordinance.
Ortiz will be responsible for inspecting all restaurants and businesses involved in food preparation and processing, issuing food health safety certifications, educate all local individuals and businesses on the requirements of the City’s Health Ordinance, and enforce the City Health Ordinance public health requirements, including issuance of citations for violations of the City’s Health Ordinance.
Jessica Ortiz is pleased to have been named as City Health Inspector and looks forward to working with all local individuals and businesses interested in opening a food business as well as those who already operate their food business. Ortiz noted that the City’s Health Ordinance purpose is to protect the residents and visitors of Eagle Pass from public health diseases or illnesses stemming from local food businesses.
In addition to enforcing the City’s Health Ordinance, Ortiz also will be charged with enforcing the State of Texas Public Health laws.
