Five Eagle Ford Shale Oil & Gas Workers injured in drilling rig explosion

Five Eagle Ford Shale Oil and Gas workers were seriously injured in an oil drilling rig explosion on Friday, October 24, 2014, near Cotulla, Texas.
La Salle County emergency rescue crews rushed to the scene of the oil drilling rig explosion. Five injured workers were treated and transported to San Antonio, Texas medical facilities to be treated for severe burns and injuries sustained by the workers.
La Salle County is in the heart of the Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas boom and Cotulla, Texas is enjoying a robust economic growth.
Three of the injured workers were transported to the San Antonio Military Medical Center to be treated for severe burns while two others were taken to another San Antonio medical center.
According to a preliminary report, the five workers were drilling an oil rig when it exploded. The La Salle Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
