The UTSA Eagle Ford Shale Community Development Program’s September 26th workshop in Eagle Pass at SRSU-Rio Grande College is an excellent opportunity for everyone to learn about and discuss the changes being caused by the Eagle Ford Shale gas and oil activity.
Eagle Pass is strategically geographically located to become the gateway to U.S.-Mexico Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas activity as Mexico’s state-owned oil and gas company, PEMEX, announced the exploration of the Eagle Ford Shale between Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico and Guerrero, Coahuila, Mexico near the banks of the Rio Grande River.
The Eagle Ford Shale Community Development Program assists communities to make sound decisions on how to react to predictable changes caused by the Eagle Ford Shale business activities in order to promote sustainable economic progress by increasing community capacity, developing strategic plans, improving leadership, and sharing best practices strategies within South Texas rural communities being impacted by Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas activity.
“This is an important workshop on the impact of the Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas play in the Middle Rio Grande region, including Eagle Pass and Maverick County, and how to maximize the economic development impact of the Eagle Ford Shale in the region while adapting to the rapidly changing scenarios in South Texas brought by the Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas activity,’ said Jason Clark of UTSA Eagle Ford Shale Community Development Program.
