Eagle Ford Shale explosion injures three workers

In a late evening accident at an oil company site approximately 27 miles south of Jourdanton, three workers were injured.
It was later determined that two men, had very severe injuries. These men were transported by ambulance to the Atascosa Sheriff’s Department for triage and later airlifted to San Antonio Military Medical Center.
The third worker was working nearby, it was determined that he suffered minor injuries.
It appears that the “men were using a water well-type perforating gun when it exploded,” described Sheriff David Soward. It has yet to be determined if the gun was being loaded at the time of the accident.
