Eagle Ford Shale accident claims another life

Another automobile accident in Dimmit County, near Carrizo Springs, Texas, has claimed the life of a person on Monday, December 17, 2012, announced the Dimmit County Sheriff’s Department.
Two pick-up trucks collided head-on with each other about three miles west of Loop 517 on Highway 277 west of Carrizo Springs. An unidentified person died at the accident scene as a result of the injuries sustained from the accident, announced the Texas Department of Transportation Laredo Office.
As a consequence of the fatal accident, Highway 277 was temporarily closed and traffic from Carrizo Springs to Eagle Pass was detoured to Loop 517 to Highway 83 as well as FM 191 and traffic traveling east on Highway 277 was detoured to FM 2644 to El Indio and then to FM 1021 to Eagle Pass, announced the Texas Department of Transportation.
Since the opening of the Eagle Foed Shale oil and gas boom play in Southwest Texas, there has been a significant increase in highway accidents and fatalities.
