Eagle Passan Jessica Sanchez Wins Best New Female Artist at Tejano Music Awards

Eagle Passan recording artist, Jessica Sanchez, won the ‘Best New Female Artist ‘ Award at the 32nd Annual Tejano Music Awards in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, August 18, 2012. Surprised and elated by the prestigious award, Sanchez thanked the Lord, her parents, family, mentors, and her fans for supporting her singing career since childhood.
” This award is a dream come true and only motivates me to continue working harder on my music and singing in the present and future,” said Sanchez.
Sanchez is the daughter of Joe and Leticia Sanchez of Eagle Pass and is a graduate of Eagle Pass High School.
Other Tejano Music Awards winners announced at the 32nd annual event were Elida Reyna as ‘Best Female Vocalist of the Year,’ Jesse Turner was named ‘Best Male Vocalist of the Year, ‘ Ricky Valenz won ‘Best New Male Vocalist of the Year,’ the Hometown Boys won ‘Conjunto Album of the Year,’ Tejano Highway 281 was named ‘ Best New Group,’ Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Johnny Canales, Mingo Saldivar, and Elsa Garcia, Siggno won Album of the Year, Elida Reyna and Jesse Turner won Vocal Duo of the Year and Song of the Year, and Elida Reyna was named Entertainer of the Year, The Tejano Music Awards were co-founded in 1980 by native Eagle Passan Rudy Trevino.
