18 Wheeler Tractor-Trailer Burns In U.S. Highway 277 North Near Quemado, Texas

An 18 Wheeler Tractor-Trailer caught on fire on United States Highway 277 North, two miles north of Quemado, Maverick County, Texas, at approximately 11:15 A.M. on Thursday, July 20, 2017, closing US Highway 277 North for several hours to allow first responders to investigate and clean up the debris strewn across the highway as a result of the 18 Wheeler Tractor-Trailer burning down. The accident is near Las Moras Creek in Maverick County, Texas on U.S. Highway 277 North.
The Eagle Pass Fire Department and EMS, Maverick County Sheriff’s Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the 18 Wheeler Tractor-Trailer Fire.
There are apparently no injuries other than severe damages to the 18 Wheeler Tractor-Trailer.
The traveling public is advised to take and follow the detours established by the Texas Department of Transportation between Eagle Pass, Texas to and from Del Rio, Texas. Travelers may take FM 1908 in Quemado, Maverick County to State Highway 131 to Brackettville, Kinney County, Texas and then US Highway 90 West to Del Rio, Texas. Travelers between Eagle Pass and Brackettville, Texas should take the detour to FM 693 to Brackettville, Texas.
U.S. Highway 277 North was closed to travelers until 10:30 P.M. on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at which time it was reopened.
