Luis Flores Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Aggravated Assault

(Press Release) On March 8, 2017, in Eagle Pass, Maverick County, Texas a jury was about to be selected for the punishment phase of the case of the State of Texas vs. Luis Flores with the offense being Aggravated Assault which occurred on February 3, 2015, in which Mr. Flores had already pled guilty on May 5, 2016, to causing serious bodily injury to Aracely Flores by cutting her with a sharp object. Before the jury was selected an agreement was reached by District Attorney Roberto Serna and by the attorneys for Luis Flores, wherein Mr. Flores was sentenced to serve twenty (20) years in prison at the Institutional Division of Texas Department of Criminal Justice. District Attorney Robert Serna would like to thank the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office as well as District Attorney Investigator Eloy Garcia for their hard work and dedication to the fair and honest administration of justice in this case. District Attorney Roberto Serna again stated that felony domestic violence simply will not be tolerated. In the last thirty (30) days, one defendant has been sentenced to fifty-five (55) years in prison for the murder of his wife and now Mr. Flores has been sentenced to twenty (20) years in prison for the injuries he caused to Mrs. Flores.
