Eagle Pass C. C. Winn Maverick Safety Rene Auces signs National Letter of Intent to play for University of Texas-Permian Basin Falcons

Eagle Pass C. C. Winn High School Maverick standout safety Rene Auces fulfilled his dream of playing college football by signing a National Letter of Intent to play for the University of Texas-Permian Basin Falcons on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the C. C. Winn Library amidst his parents, grandparents, teammates, Head Coach Eric Villasenor, and Athletic Director Edward Graf.
Auces was named the 2016 District 29-5A Most Valuable Defensive Player by the District coaches while leading the C. C. Winn Mavericks to historic records of winning the football District Co-Championship, Bi-District Championship, Area Champioship, and Regional Semi-Finalists.
Head Coach Eric Villasenor congratulated Rene Auces for his extraordinary dedication and commitment to the game of football and taking the defensive team leadership by the reins. Villasenor wished Auces continued success in the college football game scenario.
Athletic Director Edward Graff also congratulated Rene Auces for obtaining an offer to play NCAA collegiate football with the mighty UT-Permian Basin Falcons.
